James

I don't remember exactly how or where I met James but I suspect it was at Worlebury Golf Club. We were both obsessed with the sport and played very regularly together. Two rounds a day in school holidays.

We became very close friends and we shared a group of friends namely Andy, Claire, Lynn, Sharon , Jamie, Sarah, Henry, Jane and a whole cast of characters from the pubs and clubs in Weston. We had a wonderful time during our teens. I had a sound system and record collection so we listened to music constantly. The Specials, Madness, Selecter, The Beat, Bob Marley, Gregory Isaacs, The Buzzcocks, New Order the list goes on.

We all moved to London in our late teens James went to Thames Poly. I went to work initially then to Middlesx Poly. Music carried on as a passion. We saw Misty in Roots at Thames Poly, Gil Scott Heron at The Town and Country Club and many more.

I visited Enfiled when James relocated and he would visit us in our house in Hyam Road in Tottenham.

After a decade or so I relocated back to Bristol and slowly lost touch with James. Then thankfully met again a few times in Weston over the last 10 years or so.

James was kind, gentle, funny and a good friend. We will miss him. Knowing him enriched all our lives.

One Love brother.
